YouTuber Elvish Yadav Faces Legal Action Over Alleged Fake Police Escort Video in Jaipur

ELVISH YADAV

YouTuber Elvish Yadav has become the center of a legal controversy following the release of a video that purportedly shows him receiving an official police escort during a music video shoot in Jaipur, Rajasthan. The video, which was shared on social media platforms, depicts Yadav traveling in a vehicle allegedly accompanied by police cars, suggesting he was granted special security privileges. This portrayal has led to significant public discourse and scrutiny.

The Rajasthan Police have firmly refuted the claims made in Yadav’s video. Jaipur Police Commissioner Biju George Joseph stated unequivocally that no official escort was provided to the YouTuber. He emphasized that the video in question was misleading and that appropriate legal action would be initiated against those responsible for disseminating such misinformation. Following this assertion, an FIR was registered against Elvish Yadav at the cyber police station. The charges pertain to the alleged sharing of a fabricated video that could potentially tarnish the reputation of the Rajasthan Police.

The contentious video features Yadav as a passenger in a car driven by Krishnavardhan Singh Khachariyawas, the son of former Rajasthan minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas. Throughout the footage, a police vehicle is seen moving ahead of their car. During their conversation, Krishnavardhan is heard explaining that the police vehicles would change as they moved through different jurisdictions, implying a coordinated escort. This depiction led to widespread criticism, with many accusing the police of providing undue privileges to the YouTuber.

In response to the allegations, Additional Commissioner of Police Rameshwar Singh clarified that no escort was assigned to Yadav. He reiterated that police security is provided strictly based on established protocols and that no special arrangements were made in this instance. ACP Kunwar Rashtradeep further elaborated that the police vehicles shown in the video were not escorting Yadav and that the content was misleading, aiming to damage the image of the Rajasthan Police.

Former minister Pratap Singh Khachariyawas addressed the situation, distancing himself and his son from the controversy. He stated that neither he nor his son had requested a police escort for Yadav. He emphasized that, as a politician, he meets many individuals, including Yadav, but had no involvement in arranging any police accompaniment. He suggested that inquiries regarding the police vehicles should be directed to the state government or Yadav himself.

Elvish Yadav had traveled to Jaipur on February 8 for a music video shoot in Sambhar. During this visit, he filmed a vlog that included the controversial footage. The video also appeared to show Yadav’s car bypassing a toll booth without making a payment by following the police vehicle, further fueling the debate over the authenticity and implications of the content shared.
