The Yogi government is working on a war footing to make the state a filaria -free by the year 2027. Under this, a comprehensive Sarvajan Drug Consumption (MDA) campaign was launched in 195 blocks of 27 districts from Sunday in 195 blocks of 27 districts in the state. Realizing the importance of community participation, the Yogi government has planned cooperative efforts by incorporating several departments. State Rural Livelihoods Mission, Education Department, Panchayati Raj Department and Food and Civil Supplies Department, are working in collaboration with the Department of Health and to ensure the final success of the MDA campaign.
Women of self -help groups linked to the campaign
Mission Director of National Health Mission, Dr. Pinky Jowell informed that according to the intention of CM Yogi, continuous monitoring is being done to make the campaign a success. This objective campaign should follow national health standards and achieve objectives effectively. Additionally, the Mission Director has played a leading role in providing detailed guidelines and protocols to all associate departments. These guidelines have been designed to ensure integrated and consistent approaches during the implementation of the campaign. A major aspect of public participation strategy is to include women from self -help groups, who will play an important role in removing any concern or apprehension of the public about the safety and effectiveness of the drug given.
Children and Guru ji will play an important role in prevention of filariasis
The Education Department is actively contributing to this campaign by raising awareness through various school-based activities. Teachers will play an important role in educating students about the prevention of filariasis. This education will be included in the daily routine, where teachers will explain the importance of prevention of filariasis during prayer meetings. The objective of this approach is to encourage parents’ participation and support in the MDA campaign. The Food and Civil Supplies Department is also actively involved in the spread of important information about the campaign. This information will be shared strategically at ration shops to ensure that a large part of the population has access. The purpose of the campaign is to encourage families to actively participate in the campaign who are hesitating with this campaign.
Symptoms of filariasis appear after 15 years
The Principal Secretary has underlined the importance of the campaign and emphasized that it is an important preventive measure against the influences of filariasis. He stressed that the success of the campaign depends on widespread public participation and cooperation. Filaria is a disease spread by the bites of infected Culex mosquitoes, which often appear for a long time after inflammation and milky urination, usually 10–15 years later. Although filariasis is currently incurable, the annual medicine given up to five years can effectively prevent the onset of this disease.
More than 35 thousand drug administrators and more than 7 thousand observers were deployed
MDA campaign Auraiya, Bahraich, Balrampur, Basti, Chandauli, Deoria, Etawah, Farrukhabad, Fatehpur, Ghazipur, Gonda, Gorakhpur, Hardoi, Kannauj, Kanpur Dehat, Kanpur Nagar, Kaushambi, Lakhimpur Kheri, Kushinagar, Maharajganj, Mirzapur, Sant Kabir Nagar, Siddhartha Nagar, Siddhartha Nagar, Raibarei, Raibarei, Will run in Sultanpur. For this, 35483 drug administrators (DA) and 7096 supervisors have been deployed. Information and communication technology materials have been sent to 195 blocks and Ayushman Arogya temples and detailed subtle plans have been made to ensure that 195 block task forces have been met and preparations have been reviewed. 390 quick response teams have been designed to deal with any severe adverse drug effects. The purpose of this comprehensive implementation is to protect a large part of the population from the danger of filariasis.
