Yogi government working on special strategy against stunting
The Yogi government aims to reduce stunting under the continuous development goals by 2030 in the next five years, for which concrete policies are being made. The Yogi government is making parents and other parents aware through Nutrition Pathshala. In the first 1000 days of children’s lives, there is a problem of stenting due to insufficient nutrition. To reduce this, the Yogi government has adopted a strategy ‘six months, seven times’. Under this, regular monitoring of infants under six months of age, disease management, and breastfeeding assistance are being provided to mothers. In the first six months only breastfeeding and later balanced diet strengthens the development of children. In this direction, a total of more than 9.80 lakh works have been done in 7,500 Anganwadi centers in 75 districts for the measurement of underdeveloped children between the age of 0-5 years.

Stunting measurement campaign was carried out for the first time in the state
7,500 nodal officers have been deployed in these centers to monitor underdeveloped children, ensuring intensive growth monitoring and neutrition tracking. On July 14-15, a simultaneous stunt measurement campaign was carried out for the first time across the state, in which nodal authorities verified children’s anthropometric measurements (length, weight). A state -wide stunting validation campaign was launched to understand the real status of stunting and improve the quality of data. In this campaign, children have been monitored in selected villages with joint efforts of all departments like health, education and child development service. This initiative is proving important in ensuring timely intervention. Stunting data has been improved over the years.

Training received through ‘Nutrition School’
The ‘Nutrition Pathshala’ launched on the occasion of World Breastfeeding Week (1-7 August) has played an important role in making mothers aware. Anganwadi workers and health workers trained mothers about breastfeeding and nutritious diet. It was told that first 1000 days are important for children. Stunting can be prevented from balanced nutrition.

Accepting the status of stunting possible due to intensive monitoring
In each district, 100 nodal officers of block and district level have been appointed, who are intensively monitoring Anganwadi centers. The District Magistrate is holding monthly review meetings, in which the status of stunting is assessed. The main objective of the ‘Sambhav Abhiyan 5.0’ is to identify the severe malnutrition, medical treatment, and reduce stunting in children up to the age of five years. This campaign has adopted an integrated approach to improve the nutritional level of pregnant women, dhatri mothers, and children.
