Vice President Election: Difficult Challenge before Opposition, new equation regarding potential candidate

New Delhi

As soon as the Election Commission has announced the dates for the election for the post of Vice President, the concern of the opposition India Alliance has increased. For the opposition camp, looking for a face for the candidate on this post has also become a tough challenge as the opposition parties know that their position is very weak on the basis of number force in both houses of Parliament. Despite this, the opposition can try to field a strong and ideological face as a candidate in the Vice-Presidential election, so that he can give a political message to the country that it is ready to do two hands with the ruling BJP and its candidate and stands united to compete with his ideology.

Since only members of both houses of Parliament elect the Vice President and the number of opposition MPs is less there. Therefore, the use of the Vice President of India Alliance will try to mobilize the marginalized sections including backward and minorities, farmers, intellectuals and civil society and give clear messages between them. That is why the opposition is looking for an ideological face as a shared candidate, which can spread this political message.
