So far 367 people have been rescued in Dharali area of Uttarakhand. Recently, after the cloudburst in Dharali, the flood from the mountains caused havoc. Many houses collapsed and during this time hundreds of people were stranded in this area. Currently, 367 people have been taken out through the ongoing rescue operation.
The rescue operation has gained momentum after the weather was cleared in Uttarakhand. With the help of Chinook helicopter, the affected areas are being helped. Heavy machinery and logistics materials are being sent there. 8 private helicopters, including MI 17, are also engaged in rescue. With their help, 112 people were airlifted and taken to Dehradun.
Since the natural disaster on August 5, there are still fears of some people disappear in Dharali area.
Uttarakhand police said that police, SDRF, NDRF, ITBP, Army, Fire and Revenue teams are engaged in relief and rescue operations at the disaster site. The process of transporting people trapped in the disaster -hit area through Heli continues to be taken continuously.
Uttarakhand Police posted on the social media platform ‘X’, “As part of the Uttarkashi disaster relief campaign, the Uttarakhand Police personnel are cooperating in airlifting the affected and giving them first aid and assistance to the injured, while on the other hand, they are also resolved to take relief material to inaccessible areas.”
The police also informed that the road was closed due to the demolition of the bridge 3 km ahead of Ganganani. The BRO team has started construction of a new bridge. The SDRF fixed the alignment from the steel wire.
