A big step has been taken to make the police system more accountable and transparent in Uttar Pradesh. The new DGP (Police Chief) of the state Rajiv Krishna has implemented new rules related to arrest and search on Monday. These rules have been sent to all police captains across the state and instructions have been given to follow them strictly.
Now UP police will work like CBI and ED
According to the new rules, now the UP police will also work for arrest and search on the lines of central agencies like CBI and ED. This means that now the police will have to make a complete report about every arrest, in which it will be mandatory to enter many important things.
These are the things in every arrest report:
– Location and time of arrest
– The reason for arrest
– The statement of the accused (accused)
– Full details of recovered goods
– Medical examination status
– Signature of two independent witnesses present at the time of arrest
All these things will now be recorded in writing, so that transparency in the investigation of the case remains and the evidence in the court strengthens.

The police will now also have to ensure that all the details of the things that are recovered from the accused during the arrest are recorded in writing. This will make it easier to present evidence in the court and will be able to intensify action against the accused.
Innocent people will not be upset
With this new system, innocent people will be saved from getting trapped. Because there will be records and witnesses at every step, which will also determine the accountability of the police. Also, if a person is arrested, his family will be given complete information on time, so that stress and rumors can be avoided.
How much will be the effect?
This order has been sent to the police captains of all the districts and they have been asked to strictly implement these rules at the ground level. Now the thing to be seen will be how the policemen posted in police stations and fields adopt these changes.
