UP Panchayat Elections: 50 thousand voters will not be able to vote, 45 mini panchayats missing from portal

There is still time for panchayat elections, but the Election Commission has started preparations on it. Voter revision work has also started gaining momentum. Before the census, the Election Commission has removed the names of 45 mini panchayats from the portal. Earlier 1,193 gram panchayats were on the portal, but now 1,148 gram panchayats are left.

Panchayat elections were held in the year 2020-21. During this time 26 lakh 19 thousand 516 voters voted. During this time, details of 1,193 gram panchayats were recorded on the Election Commission portal. 45 gram panchayats joined the body. It included the entire Torai, Sarai Devarai, Gaura, Chhatauna, Sarai Hari Narayan, Lakhapur, Manadhata, Mishrapur Taraul, Ahina, Jilauli, Gambhra, Sarai Bhupat, Bagiyapur, entire Motilal and Jagdishpur of Mandhata block.

Also, Rajapur Kala of Sadar, Bahorikpur, Jagapur, Fatuhabad, Andha, Kalakankar’s Chaurahi, Bajahabhit, Miragadwa, Lattara, Sandwa Chandrika’s Gadwara, Bhadausi, Shivrajpur, Dangri, Chaura, Ashapur Body joined the bodies. Prior to the census, the Election Commission has removed the names of 45 gram panchayats from the portal.

A total of 1,148 gram panchayats are visible on the portal. It is also natural to reduce booths and polling stations in this time panchayat elections due to the removal of the names of panchayats. Saving millions of rupees in elections will be saved. Additional polling personnel will not be imposed. People of this locality will now be able to participate in the civic elections.

Deputy District Election Officer/ADM Aditya Prajapati said that the names of 45 gram panchayats included in more than half a dozen bodies have been removed from the Election Commission portal before the census starts. This action has been taken from the Election Commission. Now only 1,148 gram panchayats are visible on the portal.
