Chief Secretary Mr. Anurag Jain has asked to take action as per the responsibility submitted to the department -wise officers regarding pre -preparations to deal with the flood in view of the monsoon. He said that departments have been apprised of the flood -oriented district of the state, the first three years of rainfall data and the earlier estimates related to the rains of the upcoming monsoon period 2025. Departmental officers will ensure to fulfill all the necessary actions related to them by June 25.

Principal Secretary Revenue Mr. Vivek Porwal informed that necessary instructions have been sent to all departments. He informed that the Home Department is the nodal department for disaster management. In the event of excessive and flood rescue and relief work, the Home Department SDERF, NDERF and army take necessary action by coordinating with the army. The main responsibilities of the department include keeping the flood rescue materials available with the police and home guards in the prepared situation, giving necessary training related to flood rescue to the police and home guards. The revenue department will issue instructions and check list to all collectors regarding pre -flood preparations. In the check list, all divisional commissioners and collectors were directed to assess disaster sensitive areas, flood-oriented rivers, main causes of floods, pre-information and propagation system, emergency proceedings etc.

Regarding excessiveness and flood prevention, the Panchayat and Rural Development Department has been asked that the department will identify the lower places, due to excessiveness, due to the rivers and streams being in spate, it will inform the control room. The Chief Secretary has directed that the Panchayat and Rural Development Department will identify such bridge culverts or reports in relation to rural roads. Identify the lower areas, reports and get it marking by putting boards. Along with the installation of boards, the varier and a person should be appointed. The Department of Water Resources includes inspection of all dams, ponds located in the state and monitoring the water level of the necessary repair rivers, monitoring the water level of the dams, compiling information about the release of water. The flood control room 24×7 will be operated by the department from 15 June to 15 October. Inter -state meetings are also held in view of better water management to open the gates of the dams and prevent floods. The Chief Secretary gave instructions in this regard that under unavoidable circumstances, ensure a good arrangement for pre -informing of the affected areas and maping of the concerned departments by releasing water from the dams. The level of waterlogging in the dams should be maintained by maintaining the maintenance and prevention levels should be issued so that the flood can be protected. In relation to all reservoirs and rivers, flood levels should be intensive monitoring so that necessary arrangements can be ensured in time. In this regard, the Narbadaghati Development Authority has been asked to ensure the coordination of release of water in large dams, the establishment of the control room, removing the unauthorized settlements in the submerged area. On opening the gates of the reservoirs, the information related to the flood water to reach the lower area settlements should be promoted prematurely.

It is the responsibility of health and family welfare in areas affected by excessiveness and floods to ensure medical facilities and availability of medicines in possible flood areas. The formation of medical teams for use during floods, preparations will be made to prevent diseases failing in the flood affected area. Public Health Engineering Department Testing the quality of drinking water sources includes ensuring drinking water availability in the possible flood area. The department will ensure purification by preserving contaminated drinking water. The department will ensure training for the distribution and use of chlorin tewlets for pure water.

The urban development and the housing department will identify the sites for the system of cleaning the drains and drains in the urban area, the drainage site, the removal of the encroachments from the drains, vacating lower settlements and temporary cums. Along with this, the arrangement of pure drinking water, training of employees, identification of material for flood prevention will also ensure. Along with this, officials of Food and Civil Supplies Department, Women and Child Development Department, Energy, Department of Farmers Welfare and Agriculture, Animal Husbandry have also been asked to keep preparations in advance to deal with excessive year and flood situation.
