Iran’s air defense system was badly damaged in an Israeli security forces attack during the 12-day Iran-Israeli conflict last month. Now Iran has challenged Israel and said that it has repaired its air defense systems within a month. Iran’s Deafa Press news agency quoted the regular operation of the army, Mehmood Mausvi, on Sunday that Iran has changed the air defense systems damaged during the conflict with Israel last month.
During the struggle in June, the Israeli Air Force caused heavy damage to Iran’s air defense systems, dominating the airspace in Iran. In retaliation, the Iranian armed forces also continuously showering missiles and drones on the Israeli region. Iran’s air defense system Iron Dome was also damaged in Iran’s attacks. For this reason, Iran had attacked the military bases in the Haifa and Tel Aviv of Israel with missiles and drones.
Using domestic resources fine
However, Mausvi said, “Some of our air defense systems were damaged, this is not the case we can hide, but our colleagues have replaced them with pre-determined systems using domestic resources that were kept in suitable places to protect the airspace.”
Russia built S-300 system near Iran
Prior to the war, Iran also had a Russian-made S-300 system, Bavar-373, a indigenously built long-range air-made air-defense system. Defa Press report does not mention the import of any foreign air defense system to Iran in the last weeks. Last October, after Israeli’s limited attacks on Iranian missile factories, Iran later demonstrated Russia -made air defense systems in a military exercise to show that it had recovered from the attack.
