SSC Exam Controversy: Fierce demonstration of students across the country, demand for justice arose

New Delhi

A large number of students and teachers across the country are protesting strongly against the Employees Selection Commission (SSC) examination. This protest is mainly due to heavy irregularities in the recent selection post Phase-13 exam. The anger of the students has spread from Jantar Mantar in Delhi to Patna and Jaipur, where they are raising their voice under the ‘Delhi Chalo’ movement.

What is the main reason for protest?
The main reasons for this protest are rigging and technical flaws in the examination. The major complaints of the students are as follows:
Wrong Examination Center: Many students were allotted examination centers 400-500 km from their hometown, causing them to face problems related to travel and safety.
New vendor failure: Students allege that the new vendor aducquity caused serious technical problems like server crash, failure in biometric verification and having system hanging. It is alleged that this is the same vendor who was earlier blacklisted for irregularities in the Vyapam scam.
Sudden exam canceled: In many places, the examination was suddenly canceled without any concrete reason, which wasted the time and money of the students.
Poor system: Many examination centers also had basic problems like power cuts, poor seating arrangements and unsafe campus.

Police action and students outrage
On 31 July 2025, thousands of students and famous teachers such as Neetu Mam, Abhinay Sharma and Rajat Yadav gathered in Delhi under the ‘Delhi Chalo’ movement. They were demonstrating peacefully, but the police took action such as lathicharge and custody to disperse the mob. The students described the incident as “murder of democracy”.

Major demands of students and teachers
The protesters are demanding from the government and SSC:
High-level inquiry: A fair and high-level inquiry into the appointment of new vendor adukwity should be done.
The vendor should be removed: The contract of the edukwity should be canceled immediately and the SSC develops a strong technical system of its own.
Transparent Center Allocation: Examination Center should be allotted in students’ hometowns or nearby cities.
Immediate solution: Technical flaws and other problems should be solved immediately.
