‘Sanatan Dharma ruined the country’ – Pawar’s inflammatory statement, ruckus set

The process of rhetoric in the political corridors has started once again after the acquittal of seven accused including Pragya Thakur and Lieutenant Colonel Purohit in the Malegaon blast case. NCP MLA Jitendra Avhad gave a controversial statement about Sanatan Dharma. He said that the ideology of Sanatan is distorted and it has ruined the whole country. Talking to reporters, Avhad said, no religion was ever called Sanatan Dharma. We all believe in Hinduism. This is the same so -called Sanatan Dharma which was also rejected by Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Sanatan Dharma also maligned our Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. People with this Sanatan religion tried to kill Jyotirao Phule.

He said, they threw dung at Savitribai Phule. The people of Sanatan Dharma hatched a conspiracy to kill Sahu Maharaj. Even these people did not let Dr. Ambedkar drink water in the school. He said that Manusmriti has been born from the Sanatan tradition. Therefore, no one should avoid calling Sanatani ideology distorted. At the same time, BJP has surrounded the Congress on words like Sanatan terrorism and saffron terrorism.

He said, Congress leader Prithviraj Chavan had said that there is no religion of terrorism. Then he was engaged in appeasement. Now the same saffron is making statements on terrorism and Hindu terrorism. Please tell that on Thursday, a special court acquitted all the accused of Malegaon Blast. The court said that the investigating agency has not been able to provide strong evidence. Apart from this, there was no functioning of the agency. The court has ordered the Maharashtra government to help the victims of Malegaon Blast. The court said that compensation of 2 lakh rupees should be given to the families of the dead and 50-50 thousand rupees to the injured.

There were a total of seven accused in the case, including Sadhvi Pragya, Major retired Ramesh Upadhyay, Sudhakar Chaturvedi, Ajay Rahirkar, Sudhakar Dhar Dwivedi and Sameer Kulkarni. In this case, the court also heard 323 prosecution and 8 witnesses from the accused party. On September 29, 2008, at least 6 people died after a bomb blast in a vehicle in Malegaon. More than 95 people were injured.
