It is noteworthy that the University of California, Berkeley has presented a hypothesis through energy modeling, data consolidation and regulatory expertise that it is possible to obtain less tariffs than thermal energy through energy storage -based renewable energy projects. Rewa Ultra Mega Solar (Rums) developed India’s first such solar power project in Rewa in 2017, with the first time solar energy tariff was received at a lower rate than coal -based energy. The University of California, Berkeley believes that this target can be repeated again with the implementation capacity of the strong project of Madhya Pradesh and Rewa Ultra Mega Solar, with balanced risk management and innovations. Berkeley is striving to achieve a shared objective “developing a low cost of coal -based energy” by Berkeley University and Rewa Ultra Mega Solar. It is proposed to establish a “Center on Energy Transition” at Maulana Azad National Institute of Technology (Manit), Bhopal.

The agreement will be effective for the next five years. The University of California, Berkeley will provide applied research, technical assistance and knowledge sharing (knowledge sharing) to the state government in the areas of clean power scheme, energy storage, power market, transmission development and climate adaptation.

The new and renewable Energy Minister Shri Rakesh Shukla congratulated the successful signature of the MoU and said that this cooperation will strengthen the modeling of energy storage projects in the state and will be helpful in getting the minimum tariff compared to the economically competitive and thermal energy.

In Madhya Pradesh, the state can not only play a leading role in the field of promoting renewable energy projects and in the field of energy storage, but can also present an ideal model for other states of the country, in this direction, the University of Berkeley is intention to cooperate to the government through the establishment of “Berkeley-Mainit-MP Center for Mission on Energy Transition. Renewable Energy Mr. Amanvir Singh Bains, University of Callifonia, Burkele’s Prof. Amol Fadke and Prof.
