Rapid increase in Kovid-19 cases in many areas of the country, 2 killed in 24 hours

After making a stir in Singapore-Thailend, the new variant of Korona has once again started scaring people. In many areas of the country, there is a rapid increase in cases of Kovid-19. At the same time, Corona is now proved to be fatal. 2 patients have died in the last 24 hours from the new variant of Korona in the country. According to the Health Department- 84-year-old elderly person suffering Korona in Bengaluru has died. Earlier, a 21 -year -old youth died in Thane.

The Central Government has issued an advisory after the continuous increase in cases of Corona across the country. At the same time, many state governments have alerted hospitals about this. In the national capital Delhi, the government has issued an advisory instructing all hospitals to be vigilant and keeping complete preparations to deal with Kovid. This is the first time Covid-19 cases have been reported in Delhi after nearly three years.

On May 24 (Saturday), 27 new Corona cases came to light. 8 cases have been reported in Thane, Maharashtra, 5 in Rajasthan-Karnataka, 3-3 in Uttarakhand-Haryana, 2 in Indore, Madhya Pradesh and one in Noida in UP. The total number of active cases has reached 363.

On Saturday, the Union Health Secretary held a review meeting. The meeting was attended by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), Health Research Department (DHR), Director General Health Services (DGHS) and National Center for Disease Control (NCDC). An official of Health Department said that new cases of Kovid have been reported from states like Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Karnataka. However, most cases are light (mild) and patients are recovering in home isolation.

WHO did not consider new variants worrying
According to the Indian Sars-Cov-2 Genomics Consortium (INSACOG), there have been four cases of another LF.7 types of NB.1.8.1 of Kovid-19 in India. This variant is visible in the increasing cases of China and Asia. WHO has not considered them worrying, but has categraged them as a variant kept under surveillance.

Alert in Delhi too
The Health Department is on alert after 23 cases of Corona came to light in the capital Delhi. The Health Department has issued Advisory to prevent infection. Karnataka government issued advisory
Karnataka Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao has said that there is no fear of new cases of Kovid. This year, a total of 35 cases of Corona have been reported in Karnataka. At the same time, cases have been found rapidly in the last 15 days. On Saturday, an 84 -year -old man infected with Corona was killed in Bengaluru. At the same time, a 9 -month -old child has also been found infected in Bangalore. According to the information, the condition of the child is stable.

Two cases came up in Uttarakhand
There have been two cases of Corona in Uttarakhand. Patients have been admitted to Rishikesh AIIMS. However, the state government says that the cases of Corona are very light and there is nothing of any kind of fear. The Health Secretary said that these patients had come from outside the state and came to the fore.

JN.1 variant weakens immunity
JN.1 is a strain of BA2.86 of Omikron. It was first seen in August 2023. In December 2023, WHO declared it ‘variant of interest’. It has about 30 mutations, which weaken immunity. According to the University of Johns Hopkins in the US, JN.1 spreads more easily than other variants, but it is not very serious. It remains the most common variant in many parts of the world. Symptoms of JN.1 variant may live from a few days to weeks.
