Railways have announced a round trip package scheme for passengers, under which there will be a discount of 20% on the return journey. This scheme will currently be implemented on experimental basis, so that its impact and response to the passengers can be assessed.
The Railways has announced the ‘Round Trip Package’ scheme to manage the crowd and provide better facilities to the passengers during the festive season. Under this scheme, passengers who book their returns within the deadline will get a discount of 20% on the base fares of the return ticket.
Tickets will be booked through ‘Connecting Journey Feature’
The scheme will start from 14 August 2025. Under this, the ticket for the first journey will have to be booked for the date between October 13, 2025 to 26 October 2025. After this, the ticket of return journey can be booked through the ‘Connecting Journey Feature’ for the date between 17 November 2025 to 1 December 2025.
Base fare will be exempted
There will be a discount in this scheme only when the tickets on both sides are more confirmed in the name of the same passengers. Advance reservation period will not be applicable for booking returns tickets. Rebate will be given only on the base of the return journey. Railways said that this scheme has been implemented on experimental basis at present, so that trains can be used better from both sides during festivals.
