Jagdeep Dhankhar has not appeared in a public event since sudden resignation from the post of Vice President. Nor has any statement of his. Meanwhile, Rajya Sabha MP Kapil Sibal has asked the country’s Home Minister Amit Shah a big question about him. They have asked whether we can be told where Jagdeep Dhankhar is? He posted on X and asked, ‘Are he safe? Why are they not able to contact them? ‘ Kapil Sibal further writes, “Amit Shah ji should know! He was our Vice President. The country should be worried.”
On July 21, the post of Vice President became vacant after a sudden resignation, citing the health reasons of Jagdeep Dhankhar. Dhankhar’s term was to end in August 2027. Since then, a round of speculation about the name of the new Vice President has started.
The Election Commission has also issued a notification for the election to be held on September 9 for the post of Vice President and with this the nomination process started. According to the notification, the last date for filing nomination is 21 August and the documents will be examined on 22 August. The last date for withdrawal of nomination papers is 25 August.
