New Delhi
Congress MP Priyanka Gandhi has defended her brother and Leader of Opposition and said who is true Indian? This Supreme Court cannot decide. He said that it is Rahul Gandhi’s duty to ask questions to the government as he is the Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha. Priyanka Gandhi’s statement came after the Supreme Court’s comment, in which the court said that no true Indian can do such things. Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi said, “I want to say that he cannot decide who is a true Indian? It is the duty of the Leader of the Opposition to ask the government. My brother will never speak against the army, he has high respect against them. It has misinterpreted.”
What was the comment of the Supreme Court?
Explain that the Supreme Court on Monday criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s alleged derogatory remarks about the Indian Army during the ‘Bharat Jigo Yatra’, saying, “If you are a true Indian, you will not say such a thing.” However, the apex court had stayed the ongoing proceedings against Gandhi in a Lucknow court in this case. A bench of Justice Dipankar Dutta and Justice Augustine George Christ said, “You are the Leader of the Opposition. Why do you not say things in Parliament, why do you say on social media? “The bench asked,” How did you know that 2000 square kilometers of land has been occupied by the Chinese? ” Was you there? Do you have any reliable information? “The bench asked,” Why are you making this statement without any evidence? ” If you are a true Indian, you will not say such a thing. ”
If the Leader of the Opposition cannot raise the issue, then it will be an unfortunate situation
Senior Advocate Abhishek Singhvi, who appeared on behalf of Gandhi, said that if the Leader of the Opposition could not raise the issue, then it would be an unfortunate situation. He argued, “If he cannot say these things published in the press, he cannot be the leader of the opposition.” On the “true Indian” comment of the back, Singhvi said, “It is also possible that a true Indian said that our 20 Indian soldiers were beaten and killed. This is also a matter of concern. “On this, the apex court said,” When there is a struggle across the border, is there any unusual thing to be casualty on both sides? “
Singhvi said that Gandhi was only talking about expressing concern over proper revelations and suppression of information. On this, Justice Dutta said that as a responsible leader of the opposition, Gandhi should not have said so because a proper platform exists to raise such questions. Singhvi agreed that Gandhi could better comment in the matter. He said that this complaint is nothing but efforts to harass the petitioner.
