Allahabad
Private hospitals use patients as ATMs. The Allahabad High Court made this comment on Thursday during the hearing of a case. The court said this, dismissing the demand for the removal of criminal case against the doctor in a case of negligence. A bench of Justice Prashant Kumar found that Dr. Ashok Kumar had admitted a pregnant woman for surgery, while he had a shortage of anesthetic. He arrived for a long time and by then the fetus in the womb died. The court said that it has become normal that hospitals first admit patients and then the concerned doctor is called.
The court said, “It is seen a general practice that private hospitals admit patients for treatment.” Even if he does not have a doctor to treat the related disease. They call the doctor only after recruiting patients. Once the patient is admitted, these people start calling doctors. It has become a general perception that patients are used by private hospitals like an ATM, which gives money extortion. The bench said that medical professionals should get protection, who work with full seriousness.
The court said that action is necessary on such people who open hospitals without adequate facilities. This is so that they can earn arbitrary money from patients. During the hearing, the court dismissed the doctor’s claim that the woman’s family was not ready for the operation at that time. The bench said that the matter is completely negligent and illegal money. The court said that the doctor admitted the woman. It was approved from the family to conduct the operation, but it was avoided as the doctor was not available for surgery.
Late in operation even after permission from family members, because there was no doctor
The bench said that the doctor had taken permission for the operation at 12 o’clock. Even after this, surgery could not be done because there was no doctor in Asmat. The court said that it is necessary to protect a doctor in the same situation when he is working with full heart. Still, if there is a mistake, it can be ignored as a human factor. But this thing cannot be accepted in such cases of negligence.
