US President Donald Trump recently described India’s economy as a ‘dead economy’. In response to his tanj, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave a befitting message from Varanasi and said that India is now on the way to become the third largest economy in the world. PM Modi pledged to the countrymen to adopt indigenous and said that now the time has come that every Indian should give priority to the country interest in every shopping.
The Prime Minister clearly said- Now India will also use only one scales to test everything- that is, Indian sweat things. He said that now the time has come when every citizen, every shopkeeper and every consumer of the country should adopt the mantra that we will buy what is made in India, which has been coined by Indian hands and in which our country is sweated. In the era of global instability, it is the responsibility of every Indian, not just the government, towards making India the third largest economy.
The Prime Minister said that today the economy of the world is going through many apprehensions. There is an atmosphere of instability. In such a situation, the countries of the world are focusing on their interests. India is also going to become the third major economy in the world. Therefore, India also has to be vigilant about its economic interests. India will also have to give priority to issues like its farmers, small scale industries, youth and employment.
He further said, India will now have to be alert. What to buy, only one scales will be done- that in which a citizen of India is sweating. We will buy the same things that are made in India. Be made of Indian skills, made by Indian hands. This is the real indigenous for us.
‘Every citizen became a public publicist’
Prime Minister Modi called this resolution as the responsibility of every citizen by not keeping this resolution limited to the government or political parties. He said, the government is making every effort in this direction. But we have some responsibilities as a citizen of the country. This thing is not just Modi, every person of India should keep speaking every moment- others should keep saying. Those who want the good of the country, who want to make the country the third number economy, leave their hesitation and create a feeling within the country every moment in the national interest- that resolution is, we should adopt Swadeshi. Modi made it clear that ‘Wocal for Local’ and ‘Make in India’ will now have to be made a part of practical life, not just slogans.
‘Traders should sell only indigenous goods, this true country service’
The Prime Minister made a special request to the traders and industrymen of the country and said, now the time has come to sell only indigenous products. He said, I warn the brothers associated with the business world- now only indigenous goods should be sold at our shops. This will be the true service of the country. When new goods come in every house, it should be indigenous, this should be our priority.
PM Modi’s statement comes at a time when issues like global business pressure, Russia-Ukraine War, debate on imports from China and US tariff policy are at the center of discussion on international forums.
