The 11th International Yoga Day was organized on 21 June on the theme of Yoga for an Earth for a health, its purpose was to convey information that yoga is not only beneficial for our personal health but it also strengthens the health of the entire earth. Antaratiya Yoga Day was organized at all health institutions- medical colleges, district hospitals, civil hospitals, community health centers and Ayushman Arogya temples, as well as coordinating with other departments of the state, this day was also organized on school, Anganwadi Kendars, Panchayats etc.
It is necessary for citizens to adopt a good lifestyle to maintain physical and mental health. In today’s busy life, it is necessary to remove physical and mental classics that natural remedies like yoga should be adopted and information about the physical benefits of it should be conveyed to the public. The International Yoga Day celebrated on 21 June is a global effort to spread awareness about physical, mental and spiritual benefits. To organize Yoga Day through Yoga trainees, the Government of India trained the source trainees in the state through Morarji Desai National Yoga Institute or by which Yoga Day was organized on various institutions of the state. More than 10,000 Ayushman Arogya temples in the state were also organized by community health officers from 7:00 am.
The presence of local public representatives and dignitaries was also ensured in organizing the “Yoga Sangam” Antarayan Yoga Day on the institutions so that the public could be connected to the program. For the success of the event, the public was motivated from June 18 with the help of school children, Asha, Anganwadi workers, self -help group members, Jan Abhiyan Parishad and other voluntary organizations, scouts and guides etc. To ensure the success of the Yoga Day, detailed guidelines were issued by Mission Director, National Health Mission and Commissioner, Public Health and Medical Education.
Yoga sessions were organized in about nine thousand health institutions of the state which included medical colleges, district hospital, civil hospital, community health center and Ayushman Arogya Temple. Of these, more than two lakh persons participated in collective yoga.
It is worth mentioning that the Hon’ble Prime Minister led the International Yoga Day program from Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh.
Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav, Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Durgadas Uike and Lok Sabha MP VD Sharma Ji attended the State Level Yoga Session on Atal Path of Bhopal. Similarly, Hon’ble Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla, IG Gaurav Rajput, Divisional Commissioner BS Jamod and many senior officials attended the District Level Mass Yoga Program at Government Excellent High Secondary School Martand No. 1 in Rewa. Honorable Narendra Shivaji Patel led the Minister of State for Health at Bhima Seatka, Kendra of the famous archaeological importance.
