Odisha: Six laborers killed in granite mine accident, three injured; Chandrababu Naidu expressed mourning

A tragic accident occurred in Bapatla district of Andhra Pradesh on Sunday morning, when a heavy granite rock fell on the laborers working in the mine. Six migrant laborers died in the accident, while three others were seriously injured.

How did the accident happen?
According to the police, at around 10:30 am, 10 to 15 laborers were working in the mine, then suddenly a huge rock fell on them. Police say that in the initial investigation, it seems that the rock was weakened due to rain or water leakage, causing it to fall. The police officer said, “There was no blast or earthquake activity at the time of the incident. Forensic team has been sent on the spot for complete investigation.

All laborers living in Odisha
According to the information, all the workers killed and injured in this accident were coming from Odisha and working in the mine. At the same time, the injured have been immediately admitted to the hospital after this incident. Local people and labor organizations have demanded compensation from the government to the families of the deceased and full help to the injured laborers.

Relief and rescue operations continue
After the accident, teams of police and mining department reached the spot and relief and rescue operations were started. Efforts were made to take out the people trapped in the debris.

YSRCP chief Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed condolences
Former Chief Minister and YSRCP chief Y. S. Jagan Mohan Reddy also expressed grief over the accident. He said, ‘This is a very heart -breaking incident. These laborers were working hard for their families, and in such a situation it is very sad to know their lives. He demanded from the government that the injured should get immediate treatment and financial assistance should be given to the families of the deceased.
