National Security Advisor Ajit Doval discussed bilateral military-technical relations and implementation of joint projects in strategic fields with Russia’s first Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov. Doval is in Russia to hold important talks on bilateral energy and defense relations and to prepare President Putin to India later this year. According to the Russian Embassy in India, Doval and Manturov met on Friday. The embassy said in a post, “During this meeting, the current issues related to military-technical cooperation between India and Russia were discussed.
Also negotiated on the implementation of joint projects in other strategic fields such as civilian manufacturing, metal industry and chemical industries. ” Doval met Russian President Vladimir Putin in Kremlin on Thursday and discussed bilateral cooperation between the two countries.
Doval’s visit took place at a time when US President Donald Trump issued an executive order leaving an additional 25 percent fee on Indian goods for purchasing oil from Russia. After this, the total fee has been increased to 50 percent. According to sources, Doval invited President Putin to come to India later this year on behalf of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Putin has accepted the invitation with gratitude.
