Mohan government will give additional incentive amount of 50 thousand to teachers of medical colleges of small districts

Bhopal
In view of the shortage of doctors in Madhya Pradesh, the state government is going to take three big steps. The most mainly in this is that additional incentives will be given to teachers of medical colleges of small districts up to Rs 50 thousand per month.

For this, districts will be identified by setting minimum population and other criteria. There is also a preparation to include Seoni, Neemuch and Mandsaur Medical College launched last year.

It is noteworthy that the state government is preparing to start eight medical colleges, including the current academic session 2025-26 and 2026-27. Among them, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has also been applied to start MBBS courses in Sheopur and Singrauli from this year. In the next session, there is a preparation to start colleges in six districts including Budhni, Ujjain, Mandla, Rajgarh.

Teachers are not available for colleges

Teachers (assistant professors, co -professors and professors) are not being found for colleges in small districts. Due to this, the state government is going to give incentive amount. Along with this, there is a preparation to give contractual appointment to retired teachers of medical colleges till the age of 70 years and to include NHM service in the bonding period. All three proposals will be brought to the cabinet soon.

Contract will be kept on service for 70 years

In order to meet the shortage of teachers, teachers who retire from government medical colleges at the age of 65 can be kept in contract till a maximum of 70 years of age. There is no contractual practice right now. NMC has also validated the maximum age in its parameters up to 70 years. On this basis, private medical colleges are taking services for 70 years.

In the year 2021 in Uttar Pradesh, the maximum age for government colleges has been reduced to 70 years. In Madhya Pradesh too, doctors’ organizations are demanding retirement age to 70 years. In such a situation, the government has taken out the option of contract by taking out the middle way.

Third, the step is that under the National Health Mission (NHM), the service period of doctors will be accepted under the compulsory service bond letter (bond).
