Maharashtra Water Resources Minister Girish Mahajan claimed that some MPs of the opposition camp, especially the Shiv Sena (UBT) MP, are in touch with the BJP and indicated that the party’s number will increase in Parliament in the coming days. Targeting the Shiv Sena (UBT) chief Uddhav Thackeray, the BJP leader said that the ‘Thackeray brand’ in Maharashtra has lost its relevance.
Mahajan told reporters after visiting the famous Pandharpur temple in Solapur district, ‘The number of BJP MPs will increase further. The first four MPs were in contact with us, now three more are likely to join. These MPs belong to various parties, but most are from the Shiv Sena (UBT) faction.
In an interview with ‘Saamana’ executive editor Sanjay Raut, Uddhav has said that Thackeray is not just a ‘brand’, but the identity of Maharashtra, Marathi Manus and Hindu Gaurav.
Mahajan said, ‘Thackeray brand has lost its relevance long ago. Balasaheb Thackeray was a real Shiv Sena leader, but the situation changed after Uddhav Thackeray tied up with Congress in 2019. He abandoned the ideology of Balasaheb. Then the existence of Thackeray brand ended.
Eknath Shinde tightened
Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde mentioned the Emperor Nero of Rome, targeting Uddhav Thackeray. Shiv Sena chief Shinde said without naming Uddhav, ‘It is strange that some people are still celebrating when people are leaving their party (Shiv Sena-Ubetha). We have never seen this kind of behavior before. ‘When Rome was burning, Nero was playing flute’. ‘
He also questioned the ‘selected’ criticism of the Election Commission after the opposition lost the election. He said that instead of introspecting, some leaders are just accused and cursing others.
