Today is the ninth day of encounter with terrorists in Akhhal area of Kulgam in Jammu and Kashmir. Throughout the last night, the voices of loud blasts and firing in the area were echoed. During this time two army personnel were killed, while two other soldiers were injured in the last night firing.
10 soldiers injured so far
So far, the body of a terrorist has been recovered in the encounter, while in total, two soldiers and ten soldiers have been injured. According to sources, at least three or more terrorists are still hidden by taking advantage of bases like dense forest and natural cave. This encounter has become the longest anti -terror campaign in the last several decades.
On August 1, security forces started operation
Indian security forces started ‘Operation Akhhal’ on 1 August in search of terrorists in Kulgam, Jammu and Kashmir. This action started after receiving intelligence about the hiding of terrorists in the area. It is believed that 2 to 3 terrorists can be hidden here.
According to Chinar Corps of the Indian Army, a joint team of Army, Jammu and Kashmir Police and CRPF launched a siege and search operation based on the input of the presence of terrorists in the forest area of South Kashmir.
