The Kedarnath Yatra, which has been closed for the last four days, started on Saturday due to continuous rain and falling boulder on Kedarnath walking route. On Saturday, more than two thousand passengers left for Kedarnath Dham. In the past, due to rain and landslides from place to place, the administration had temporarily banned the Kedarnath Yatra for four days. On the highway between Gaurikund and Kedarnath, there was a landslide from Munkatiya and the hill around it, while the boulders were also falling from the hill. Boulders were falling in many places on foot route till Gaurikund-Kedarnath Dham. In view of this, the police administration had temporarily banned the safety of the passengers.
Police was monitoring the weather
On Saturday, the police was monitoring the weather in Sonprayag since morning. On the instructions of the high officials when the weather was favorable, the police allowed passengers to go from Sonprayag to Gaurikund, while the passengers were allowed to go to Kedarnath when all the circumstances from Gaurikund also to assess the position of walking and all the circumstances were favorable.
Two thousand passengers from Sonprayag left for Kedarnath Dham. Passengers were especially movement between Sonprayag and Gaurikund at sensitive places amid police security. Kotwali Inspector Racendra Kathait said that the passengers were sent to Gaurikund amid security when the weather was favorable. From there, passengers were sent ahead according to the walking position.
