In Dehradun, the players of the State Karate Academy have won 3 gold medals in the K-10 National Karate Championship held from 11 to 15 June. 7 players of the academy participated in the junior and sub-junior category of the championship. In the competition, the academy players Dhakan Shah, Kalyani Kodope and Rusha Tabbat earned the gold medal and made the state proud. Sports and Youth Welfare Minister Shri Vishwas Kailash Sarang has praised the three players and appreciated them.
Result
Academy player Dharkan Shah earned a gold medal in the junior event of the 53 kg weight category of the competition. Dharkan defeated the Chhattisgarh player 8–0 in the first round. In the second round, a Rajasthan player won by a margin of 7-3. In the third and fourth rounds, the players of Haryana and Arunachal Pradesh defeated the finals by a margin of 8-0 respectively. In the final round, Dharkan Shah earned a gold medal by unilaterally defeating the Bihar player 8–0 unilaterally.
Kalyani Kodope of Academy Kalyani Kodope earned a gold medal in the 66 kg weight category junior event of the championship. Kalyani defeated the Maharashtra player 9–0 in the first round. In the second round, Rajasthan player was 8-0 and Delhi player 8–0 in the third round. In the fourth round, Kalyani defeated the Chhattisgarh player 8-2 and won the gold medal of the competition.
Academy player Rusha Tabbat earned a gold medal in the junior event of the 59 kg weight category of the championship. In the competition, Rusha entered the quarter final by defeating Rajasthan player 8-0 in the first round and 5–0 in the second round. In the quarter final, Rusha defeated the Karnataka player 8–2 and in the semi final match 6–1 to the Haryana player by 6–1. In the final match, Rusha Tabbat won the gold medal by defeating the Uttarakhand player 9-0 in the match.
