There is news of relief for millions of teachers of Uttar Pradesh. Now they will be able to get financial help in the event of serious illness. For this, Teachers’ Self Care Team (TSCT) has launched ‘Jeevan Daan Daan Yojana’, under which the needy teachers will get assistance of up to five lakh rupees. The scheme has been introduced by teachers for teachers and is completely voluntary.
A major initiative has been taken for teachers in Uttar Pradesh. Teachers’ Self Care Team (TSCT), a four lakh -member organization of the state, has launched ‘Jeevan Daan Daan Yojana for serious illness’. The objective of this scheme is to provide financial assistance to the needy teachers in the event of serious diseases.
Under this scheme, the teacher members will deposit an amount of Rs 200 by August 10, which will be stored in a fund (carpus fund). With this fund, any member will be given assistance of up to five lakh rupees in case of hospitalization during a serious illness.
The plan is completely optional. It is completely dependent on the teacher’s will and it will not affect other schemes of the institution. Vivekananda Arya, the founder president of the organization, said that this scheme strengthens the spirit of mutual assistance of teachers.
Some conditions have also been fixed for this scheme-
Assistance will be provided only when the cost of treatment is more than Rs 2 lakh.
This assistance will be valid only when hospitalized.
Only allopathic treatment is recognized in the scheme.
A member will be assisted only once in two years.
The lock-in period has been fixed at 18 months for general teachers and 17 months for Shikshamitra and instructors, which will be done 18 months from July. It has also been decided that if a teacher has a medical insurance, then first he will be given assistance to the same extent. Full assistance will be provided under the institution’s scheme if the insurance is spent more than the limit of insurance.
