Israel has openly supported India amidst the ongoing controversy over tariffs between the US and India. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has said that there is a basic understanding in the US that India is a strong and reliable partner in Asia. Netanyahu hoped that all the existing differences between the US and India would be resolved soon. Netanyahu also met India’s Ambassador JP Singh in Israel at his office in Jerusalem on Thursday. During this time there was a discussion on further strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two leaders. According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the meeting also had detailed talks on security and economic issues.
Netanyahu on America-India tariff controversy
During an interview, Netanyahu said, “India and America are two best friends. There is such a deep friendship between the two countries that any problem can be solved easily.”
India-Israel’s friendship seen in Operation ‘Sindoor’
Netanyahu also spoke on his country’s strong defense relations with India. He said that India used Israeli weapons during ‘Operation Sindoor’ and their performance has been proved.
Let me tell you that on 22 April, there was a fierce terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, in which 26 tourists were killed. After this, India launched a counter -military campaign, named Operation Sindoor.
In this operation, India used suicidal drones like ‘Harpy’ and ‘Skystriker’ manufactured by Israel. These drones accurately targeted Pakistan’s air defense system. These included the US surveillance radar and China’s HQ-9 missile system.
Israel said- defense cooperation from India will increase further
The Israeli PM said that the success in this operation shows that Israel’s weapons are reliable and prove to be extremely effective in the event of war. This has strengthened the defense cooperation between India and Israel. Netanyahu said, “This partnership is not just a business, but a matter of strategic security.”
