Assembly elections are going to be held in Bihar this year. In both NDA and the Grand Alliance, there is talk of seat sharing between the constituents. Meanwhile, the Congress has created a panic by making a statement about the left party. Rahul has said that the ideology of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Communist Party of India (Marxist) is the same. After his statement, there is speculation of rift in the India alliance. According to sources, the issue was strongly raised by leftist leaders in the virtual meeting of the India alliance on Saturday.
Rahul Gandhi while addressing a gathering organized on the death anniversary of former Chief Minister Omm Chandy in Kottayam, Kerala, said, “I fight equally about ideology from both RSS and CPI (M). My biggest complaint is that these two do not have condolences to people. It is necessary to feel people to be listened and touching people.”
Leftists objected
In the meeting, CPI leader D Raja said without naming the issue, saying that such comments spread confusion among the cadres and can harm the unity of the alliance. Another leader reminded that the slogan of India alliance was “Save the country, remove BJP”, not to promote mutual differences.
CPI (M) General Secretary MA on Rahul Gandhi’s comment Baby released a spicy video message. He said, “It is unfortunate to compare CPI (M) and RSS by Rahul Gandhi. This shows that they do not have the right understanding of the political reality of Kerala and India.” He also reminded that in 2004 the Congress government was formed with the support of leftist parties. He said, “Dr. Manmohan Singh’s government could not have been formed without the support of CPI (M).”
Baby also quipped about Rahul Gandhi’s contesting from Wayanad. He said, “He had to compete with the CPI candidate, not BJP or RSS,” he said, “He had to compete with the CPI candidate.” Significantly, Rahul Gandhi left the seat after winning the election against CPI candidate Annie Raja from Wayanad and is now MP from Rae Bareli. Later, Priyanka Gandhi has won the by -election from Wayanad seat.
There will be criticism, but no comparison: CPIM
MA. Baby said that the Left parties criticize the economic policies of the Congress, but never compare the Congress to the BJP or the RSS. He said, “We criticize the Congress independently, but never call them like RSS or BJP.”
Congress and CPI (M) are part of the Indian alliance at the national level, but both parties in Kerala lead rival fronts. United Democratic Front (UDF) under the leadership of Congress and Left Democratic Front (LDF) led by Left parties. The BJP is trying to increase its presence here. Talking about Bihar, Left parties are also included in the grand alliance in the 2020 assembly elections.
