Himachal will wreak havoc again in Himachal: Alert for heavy rain next 5 days

The monsoon in Himachal Pradesh is once again a loud hold. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain for five consecutive days from July 26 to July 30 in the state. In view of this, Yellow Alert has also been released, which means people need to be vigilant. However, today (Thursday, July 24) and tomorrow (Friday, July 25) is expected to get some relief when light to moderate rain is expected.

Where did it rain in the last 24 hours?
According to the latest report of the Meteorological Department, good rainfall has been recorded in many parts of the state in the last 24 hours. Nagrota Suria in Kangra district recorded the highest 55 mm of rainfall. Apart from this, there has been 33 mm in Naina Devi in Bilaspur, 29 mm in Guler, 28 mm in Nahan, 22 mm in Murari Devi, 19 mm in Ghumroor, 18 mm in Kasauli and 14 mm in Bhatiyat. This rain may have been relieved, but there is a possibility of heavy rain in the coming days.

According to the State Emergency Operations Center, life has been badly affected in Himachal Pradesh due to heavy rains and landslides. A total of 311 roads including the National Highway are still closed. Mandi district has the highest number of 184 roads in Kullu, while 71 roads in Kullu and 22 roads in Sirmaur have stopped. National Highway-70 is also closed in Kotli region of Mandi, causing a lot of trouble in movement.

Electricity and water supply also affected
Along with the roads, electricity and water system has also collapsed. 65 power transformers have deteriorated in the entire state, due to which there is power failure in many areas. Apart from this, 221 drinking water schemes have also been affected, due to which there has been shortage of drinking water. 49 transformers and 65 water schemes are stalled in Mandi district. Electricity supply is disrupted due to 10 transformer malfunction in Teesa sub -division of Chamba district. 60 water schemes are closed in Chamba, 59 in Kangra and 34 in Sirmaur.

Disasters so far in the monsoon season
Himachal Pradesh has so far faced many natural disasters during the monsoon season. The state has reported 26 landslides, 42 flash floods (sudden floods) and 24 cloudburst. In Mandi district alone, 15 incidents of cloudburst, 11 flash floods and 4 landslides have caused the most havoc. These incidents have caused a lot of loss of life and property and relief work is going on. The administration is appealing to the people to be vigilant and stay in safe places.
