New Delhi
The southwest monsoon reached Kerala on Saturday. This is the first time in 16 years when the monsoon has knocked 8 days ago. Monsoon rains usually begin in Kerala from June 1. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), if everything goes well, from June 4, rain will start raining in large parts of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan, Gujarat. The last time the monsoon in Kerala came so soon in 2009 and 2001, when it started raining from 23 May.
Previous conditions had developed before the arrival of monsoon in Kerala. Many parts of Kerala have received heavy rainfall in the last two days. The reason for this is the low pressure area and the monsoon system moving forward. According to IMD, Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh as well as some other parts of the Bay of South, Central and North Bengal and in the northeastern states of the northeastern states, the circumstances remain favorable for moving forward of the southwest monsoon during 22 to 27 May.
During May 29 to June 4, the monsoon will move forward in the South Peninsular and the remaining parts of the Northeast India as well as some more parts of East and Central India. During this time, pre-monsoon rains will continue in other parts of the country.
In this way the monsoon will move forward
According to the Meteorological Department, systems are being formed by May 28 to extend the monsoon air properly. A low pressure area is being formed on the Konkan-Goa coast in the Arabian Sea. At the same time, two troughs running amid low pressure in Telangana and Madhya Pradesh will also help in moving the monsoon. Cyclone in Punjab and Assam will also help the monsoon. By Saturday, the low pressure area in the Arabian Sea will start moving north. IMD officials said that this could strengthen monsoon winds. However, he said that the system is less likely to turn into a cyclone.
