Ganges of Ganges: Down the stairs of Vishwanath Temple, water reached the road at Assi Ghat

The Ganges in Kashi has crossed the danger mark 71.26. The water level of the Ganges reached 71.31 meters at 12 pm on Saturday night. After sinking 84 ghats, Ganga has now entered the city. The Ganges is 14 ladders below the Ganges gate of Srikashi Vishwanath Dham.

Three stairs of Dashashwamedh Ghat are left. The temple at Sheetla Ghat has been completely absorbed in water and some part of the peak of the temple of Ratneshwar Mahadev on Scindia Ghat is seen. Sculptures on Namo Ghat have also drowned. People are trapped in homes. Ganga water is flowing on the road at Assi Ghat. Jagannath has reached near the gate of the temple.

In these areas, relief camps have been set up for flood victims at Chitrakoot Convent Inter College in Nakkighat and Navodaya Public School in Daniyalpur. 147 refugees had taken refuge in the camps by Saturday.

Nakkighat residents Anu Devi, Jamal Ansari, Simran, Habiba Biwi said that despite the primary school Daniyalpur, the camp was not built, while the relief centers are away from their homes. People are forced to take shelter privately in high places.
