Former Governor Satyapal Malik has passed away. He is undergoing treatment at Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital in Delhi for a long time, but could not be saved. He had served as governors in states like Jammu and Kashmir, Goa and Meghalaya. Satyapal Malik, who started his career with student politics, was a leader from the socialist ideology. Satyapal Malik, who traveled from an MP to the governor, was associated with BJP in the last few years and served as governors in many states. However, he was vocal against the government for the last few years. He also accused of corruption during his tenure in Jammu and Kashmir.
Satyapal Malik’s X account was also informed about his death. On this ex account, his personal assistant last told on 9 July that his condition is critical. Satyapal Malik, who described himself as a disciple of Chaudhary Charan Singh, was vocal in support of the peasant movement and strongly condemned the government. Not only this, he had visited several states in support of the peasant movement and appealed to the government to withdraw three disputed bills. He was also very much discussed due to direct attack on PM Narendra Modi.
Satyapal Malik was a total of 5 states governors in five years
He was a governor in a total of 5 states from Bihar to Jammu and Kashmir and Meghalaya during 2017 to 2022. He started his political career in 1970 and contested the assembly from Baghpat in 1974. In this election, Chaudhary Charan Singh’s party landed from the Bharatiya Kranti Dal and won. He will always be remembered for the tenure of the Governor in Jammu and Kashmir. In his era, Article 370 was removed from the state and Ladakh was made a separate territory by reorganizing the state. However, he was also in controversies regarding this term.
Surprised for filing a charge sheet on myself
He had alleged corruption about the hydropower project and then the CBI filed a charge sheet against him in the same case. On this charge sheet, Satyapal Malik objected from the hospital itself and said what is happening. The person who accused of corruption, an investigation against him was started and now a charge sheet has been filed. Satyapal Malik also opposed the government in the Lok Sabha elections 2024 and appealed to vote in support of the opposition.
