Example of encourage: Broken bridge in flood, villagers of Malana created a new way in 7 days

Encouragement

Himachal
Located in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, Malana village, known for its ancient rules and culture, has given a new inspiration to the entire state with its courage and self -reliance after the recent natural disaster. Heavy rains and sudden floods on the night of 1 August caused heavy havoc in the Malana river. In this flood, the only foot bridge connecting the village to the outside world was washed away, causing Malana’s contact to be completely cut off.

This disaster caused a lot of damage in the village. A woman, 10–15 cattle, a car, JCB and a truck were also swept away in the river. Even in this hour of difficulty, the people of the village are not broken. Instead of waiting for government assistance or any rescue team, he himself started rescue work. The villagers found the body of the missing woman collectively. This reflects the spiritual spirit that does not give up even in their bravery and difficult circumstances.

Causes of disaster and allegation of villagers
Local people believe that the reason for this severe flood is the construction work of the hydroelectric project running in the upper part of the river. They allege that the construction company cut the environmental regulations and harvested trees on a large scale, which weakened the soil. Due to lack of trees, the soil could not stop the water, and the rain water went directly into the river and caused floods. The 109 MW run-of-the-winter Malana Hydroelectric Project, which is being built near Malana village, has also suffered heavy damage due to this flood, and its machinery has also been washed away in the river.
Bridge built itself instead of government help
After the disaster, the people of Malana did not wait for any government help. He revived his traditional collective labor system. All the villagers together constructed a temporary bridge with the help of wood and ropes in traditional methods. With this amazing effort, Malana’s contact once again joined the outside world. The people of the village follow the principles of their deity Jamlu Rishi, and this unity and self -reliance gives them strength in every crisis. This is not the first time the people of Malana have shown such courage. Last year too, when this bridge was damaged, he himself built a new bridge together.
