The Bengaluru court of Karnataka sentenced former JDS former MP Prajwal Revanna to life imprisonment after convicted in the rape case. A special court of public representatives sentenced Prajwal Revanna to life imprisonment in a raping a domestic maid at a farmhouse in Hollernarsipura in Hassan district. The maid was 47 years old. After this, the videos with their women went viral on social media.
Former Janata Dal (Secular) MP Prajwal Revanna has been sentenced to life imprisonment by a special court in Bengaluru on charges of rape with his domestic assistant. The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 5 lakh on Prajaval Revanna, grandson of former Prime Minister of the country HD Deve Gowda. The court has sentenced Prajaval Revanna to the maximum sentence. Prajaval Revanna has been sentenced in the case related to sexual harassment of a 48 -year -old woman. This woman was a domestic assistant. He was also accused of sexual harassment and broadcasting a video of this act.
The woman, who worked as a domestic assistant at the farmhouse of the Revanna family in Holenarsipura in Hassan district, alleged that Prajwal Revanna raped her repeatedly since 2021. At the same time, during this time he also recorded and threatened that if he told anyone about his actions, he will release the video.
Arrest was done last year
Prajwal Revanna, who was a JDS MP from Hassan, was arrested on May 31 last. Revanna’s arrest took place on a large scale after obscene and objectionable videos came out with women. After this, the SIT was formed by the Government of Karnataka for investigation. After this, the victim women had registered rape against Prajwal Revanna. Revanna has been sentenced by the Bangalore court in the first case. When Revanna was convicted in the court, no one was present on behalf of the family. Prajwal Revanna is the grandson of former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda.
2144 page charge sheet
The SIT, constituted by the Karnataka government, filed a 2144 page charge sheet against Prajwal Revanna after investigation in August last year. This was done for sexual harassment and rape cases. Pravejl Revanna sexually abused women working at home. The video went viral on social media on 26 April in an objectionable state with all the women of Prajwal Revanna. The Congress government of Karnataka took the matter seriously and the Karnataka police registered a case and got involved in the investigation.
After the pornographic video went viral, more than 50 women and women came out one by one. He put the talk of Revanna’s misconduct in front of the country. Revanna was accused of sexual harassment. The Karnataka police registered 4 cases against the accused Revanna.
Revanna fled to Germany after being named in rape case
After the video of the case surfaced, pressure on the Karnataka police started increasing to arrest the accused Prajwal Revanna. Fearing arrest, the lady fled to Germany. He returned to India on 31 May 2024. Karnataka police arrested him at Bengaluru Airport.
Hasan had to face defeat from seat
After the sexual harassment case came to light, the political influence of the Deve Gowda family was also discounted. Revanna lost to Hasan seat. Shreyas Patel of Congress won.
Sperm found in saree, implicated by her own video
The victim used to work with Prajwal. The victim told the police that in 2021, Prajwal raped her twice. The act of the former MP was confirmed by the sari of the rape victim. DNA was found to be enlightened from the victim’s sari.
The victim said that when her video went viral, she reached the police. The victim lodged a complaint against Revanna on 28 April 2024. The victim’s rape video was also found by the police. In the forensic investigation, the person seen in the video footage and Revanna are the same person. This was confirmed.
Revanna started crying bitterly
Special Court judge Santosh Gajanan Bhat, Bangalore’s Special Court, on August 1, as soon as the decision was made to be convicted, the brunt of Karnataka’s most powerful family started crying bitterly. Advocate Ashok Nayak, who fought the case on behalf of the victim, said that Victim’s statement was very strong. This case was four years old. Therefore, it was complicated to prove the accused guilty. Nayak said that on the basis of evidence and the victim’s witness, the court found Revanna guilty.
In India, the convict in the case of rape can be sentenced to imprisonment for at least ten years. The court can increase it to life imprisonment, given the seriousness of the incident. Along with this, there is also a provision of fine in the case of rape.

Women had made serious allegations
Cases were registered against Prajaval Revanna after several women were accused in April 2024. The women had alleged that the then MP forced him to sexually act and recorded him.
