The Delhi High Court has issued a notice to the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on the interim bail plea of Baramulla MP Engineer Rashid. The High Court has fixed July 29 for hearing in the case. In fact, MP Engineer Rashid has sought interim bail to participate in the Parliament session. His interim bail plea was rejected by the Special NIA court.
Earlier, the Patiala House Court on Tuesday detained Jail Lok Sabha MP Engineer Rashid in custody from July 24 to August 4 to attend the monsoon session of Parliament.
Rashid has been lodged in Tihar Jail since 2019 after being arrested by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) under the 2017 terror funding case. Additional Sessions Judge Chander Jeet Singh approved parole in custody.
