Cruise ships absorbed in sea: 37 killed, mourning in the country

A cruise ship full of tourists has overturned in the sea in a horrific accident in Vietnam, causing 37 people to die so far. This sad incident occurred on Saturday at the famous Ha Long Bay of Quang Ninh province when the ship was hit by a fierce storm. The rescue operations still continue on a large scale as dozens of people are still missing. The incident took place at around 1:30 pm on Saturday (local time). Officials said the ship faced a powerful storm and till 2:05 pm, the ship lost contact with the authorities and he drowned in the bay water.

There were 48 passengers in the ship, most of the youth and children
At the time of the accident, there were 48 passengers in the cruise ship, including 24 men and 24 female. It is being told that many of these passengers were young and children. Most of the passengers were from Vietnam who came to visit the UNESCO World Heritage Site Ha Long Bay from the capital Hanoi. Despite the challenging weather and heavy rains, rescue teams managed to remove 11 people alive with water. However, dozens of people are still missing due to which a large scale rescue operations are being carried out.

Prime Minister expresses mourning, order for investigation
There is an atmosphere of mourning across the country after this accident and death of tourists. Vietnam’s Prime Minister Fam Minh System has also issued its statement regarding this incident. He has expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the dead. Along with this, the Prime Minister has called for a detailed investigation into the accident. A statement issued by the government said that any lapse or negligence in the incident will be dealt with strictly. Let us know that Ha Long Bay is one of the most prominent tourist places in Vietnam. In the year 2019, more than 40 lakh tourists from the country and abroad came to visit here. This incident has raised serious questions on the tourism industry and safety standards of Vietnam.
