CM Yogi angry on caste and religion based order, officer suspended

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has expressed strong displeasure over the order of the Panchayati Raj Department, in which the action of removing the illegal possession from the land of the Gram Sabha was directed by linking it to the special caste (Yadav) and Dharma (Muslim). The Chief Minister has directed the order to be canceled immediately, calling this order ‘discriminatory and unacceptable’.

The Chief Minister, considering the matter as a serious administrative lapse, the concerned Joint Director S.N. Singh has been suspended with immediate effect. He said in clear terms that such language and thinking is not only against the policy of governance, but is also going to create a division in the society, which will not be tolerated at all. Yogi Adityanath instructed the officials that action against illegal occupations should be completely fair, according to facts and laws, not on the basis of caste or religion.

He also said that there should be no such mistake from the future, it should be taken strict. The Chief Minister reiterated that the government is fully committed to harmony, social justice and equal rights to all. He said that government policies cannot be based on prejudice towards any person, community or class. He also clarified that the government’s policy is based on the basic spirit of constitution and justice and not any discrimination.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath also surrounded opposition parties during an event in Saharanpur on Monday. He said, “Congress and SP are upset with the increasing pride of Sanatan Dharma. Earlier governments used to protect terrorists and tried to weaken the traditions of Sanatan Dharma, but now India is touching new heights of development with its spiritual heritage.”

He further said that the BJP’s double engine government has abolished the neglect of Saharanpur region and has started a new chapter towards development and protection of cultural heritage. The government’s message from this whole matter is clear that no administrative action will be accepted nor tolerated on the basis of caste and religion.
