Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that a campaign is being launched across the country to realize the vision of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s poor, women, farmers and youth. The state government is operating this campaign in mission mode. Constant efforts are being made to ensure economic empowerment of weaker sections in the state. Various ambitious schemes are being run. Among them, the MNREGA scheme has become the basis of economic prosperity of poor farmers and workers. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that through this scheme, not only the poor, workers and farmers are getting employment at the local level, but also the availability of irrigation. Under the scheme, other construction works are being done including farm-pond, amrit-sarovar, wells, check-dams, land leveling, rigor, construction of gardening, water bodies, renovation and construction of rainwater harvesting structures. So far, 32 lakh people of the state have got employment in the Jal Ganga Promotion Campaign under the MNREGA scheme. In the year 2025-26, the workers have been paid an amount of about Rs 1500 crore so far.
22 lakh families got benefits
The MNREGA scheme is being run by the Central and State Governments to provide employment to the people residing in rural and urban areas. Under the MNREGA scheme, 100 days of employment is provided to the people at the local level. Since April, 32 lakh people of 22 lakh families have got the benefit of MNREGA scheme in the state.
Working of water structure
The water Ganga enrichment campaign is being conducted by the state government for this, which can be collected on a large scale of rain water in the state. Under the campaign, water structure works are being done on a large scale in the state. In the event of June 14, 80 thousand 496 farm ponds, one lakh one thousand 61 coup recharge pit and one thousand 283 Amrit Sarovars are being constructed in the state. A large number of people are getting employment at the local level.
Water Ganga enhancement campaign is proving effective
The state government is conducting water Ganga enrichment campaign for three months. That too at a time when there is no time for farming. Farmers, poor and workers are looking for employment. In such a situation, the water Ganga enrichment campaign has proved to be effective. Local employment was provided under MNREGA. Due to which he did not have to go to other states or districts in search of work. Also, there was a decrease in migration of people.
Helpful in farming and domestic expenses
The wages received from the MNREGA scheme are not only a means of employment for the workers and farmers, but also helping to meet the requirements like farming, household needs and children’s education. Through the scheme, other development works are being done including farm-pond, Amrit Sarovar, well recharge pit, roads improvement, rainwater harvesting, which are strengthening the rural infrastructure.
