A big accident has occurred due to cloudburst in Uttarkashi in Uttarakhand. On Tuesday, a drain was in spate due to cloudburst in Dharali village near Gangotri Dham and Mukhwa. The drainage water flowed from the hill to the low -lying areas very fast, which has completely destroyed many houses. This incident is very serious and it has worried the local people. Debris has also come with drain water, in which many people are feared to be buried.
Gangotri Dham has affected area
After the cloudburst, there was panic in the entire area due to water boom in the drain, now relief and rescue work is going on in the area. The district disaster management has confirmed the accident and said that the situation is being monitored strongly. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said that NDRF and SDRF teams are being sent on the spot, as well as the district administration is also engaged in rescue.
The situation is so difficult that the army has also left for relief and rescue work. The team of SDRF from Bhatwadi has also left for Dharli. This morning, there has been a huge overflow in Banal Patti of Barkot tehsil area of Uttarkashi district.
A flood came from the mountain as the cloud burst
After a cloudburst in Dharali village of Uttarkashi, a lot of debris came down from the mountain as a flood. Due to this, there is also a possibility of many people being buried. Viewing in the video shows how frightening this waterfall was. People started screaming while watching this scene. District Disaster Management Officer Shardul Gusaini said that the rescue team has left for the spot. People were screaming while making videos.
According to media reports, there has been havoc in the Kheer Ganga river at the main stop of Gangotri Dham due to cloudburst. About 20 hotels and homestays have been damaged due to disastrous floods here. There is also a possibility of many local people and laborers being buried.
Giving information, Gangotri MLA Suresh Singh Chauhan said- In Dharali, there is a cloudburst over Kheer Garh. The Chief Minister has been informed immediately on the information. The team of Army, Police, SDRF has reached the District Magistrate with the information. This is a very big event. I have also left Dehradun for the spot. God has to save everyone safe from this disaster.
Uttarakhand police updated
Uttarakhand police told their X handle that police, SDRF, Army etc. are busy in relief and rescue operations on the spot on the information of loss in Dharli due to increase in the water level of Kheer vehicle in Uttarkashi, Harshil area. In view of the said incident, make a proper distance from all the river. The police have warned to take themselves, children and cattle themselves at a proper distance from the river.
The winter migration of the affected villages Gangotri Dham and Gangaji is very close to Mukhwa. People are nervous due to cloudburst in this area. All the people have been advised to be safe by the administration and precautionary steps are being taken so that there is no untoward. Necessary steps are being taken to control the situation.
In hilly states like Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, heavy rains and cloudburst are continuously happening. Many people have lost their lives in these accidents and the houses have suffered a lot.
Floods in 17 districts of UP, 300+ houses collapsed, 16 deaths
There are flood-like conditions due to monsoon rains in UP-Bihar. Hundreds of villages have been submerged in many districts including Munger, Buxar, Purnia, Bhojpur, Patna in Bihar. Purnia, Bihar received record rain after 38 years. It received 270.6mm rain from Sunday to Monday. Earlier in 1987, there was 294.9mm rainfall.
402 villages from 17 districts including Prayagraj, Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh are in flood. So far 343 houses have collapsed due to rain. In the last 24 hours, 16 people have died in flood-rain-related accidents. On August 5 in Jaunpur, Chandauli, Sultanpur, Kanpur, Pilibhadra and Sonbhadra, Varanasi, Hamirpur and Lakhimpur have been extended to schools in Prayagraj and Mirzapur till 7 August.
310 roads are closed due to heavy rains in Himachal Pradesh. In Shimla, 3 houses were landedlides on Monday after rain. People left home a day earlier. Chandigarh-Manali Fourlane is also closed after heavy rains last night. In Haldwani, Uttarakhand, 3 people died due to flowing in the river.
Red alert of heavy rain in Kerala
The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of heavy rains in Kerala on Tuesday and Orange Alert in Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Delhi, Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry. Apart from these, light to moderate rain may occur in 19 states including Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Punjab.
