The case of hanging the bills passed by the Governor of Tamil Nadu reached the Supreme Court a few months ago. Hearing the same case, the apex court had asked the governors and the President to take a decision within three months. On this, the President has also sought an opinion from the Supreme Court how you can give such an order to the President or Governor. But in the meantime, the tussle has started again in Tamil Nadu itself. The latest case is related to the Kalanar Shatabdi University Bill. This bill was given by R.K. N. Ravi has reserved and sent before the President. Sources in Raj Bhavan have given this information.
Karunanidhi, former Chief Minister and father of MK Stalin, is also known as Kalangar. The bill was approved in April from the Tamil Nadu Assembly. Under this, it is proposed to set up a university and its Chancellor will be the Chief Minister. According to the current rule, Chancellor of any state university is the governor of the concerned state. Now the Stalin government of Tamil Nadu wants to change this rule. The DMK has erupted due to the bill stuck by the Governor. The party says that the Governor has openly contempt the order of the Supreme Court.
The DMK said that the Supreme Court had asked the Governor to take a decision within a month. Apart from this, it was also said that if a bill is sent to the President to get opinion, then a maximum of three months should be taken. Rajya Sabha MP and Tamil Nadu government counsel P. Wilson said, ‘The Governor has contested the order of the Supreme Court by not approving the bill. They have no right not to take decisions. It is his duty to approve the bill passed by the Council of Ministers and the Assembly.
It is believed that if a decision is not taken by the Governor or the President in the next few days, then the DMK government can turn to the court. Explain that on the advice sought by the President, a case is already going on in the Supreme Court.
