Belthhangadi Dharmasthal murder case: Allegations of eradicating evidence and bouring the body secretly, many questions raised

Belthangadi

The shocking revelations revealed from Belthngadi in Karnataka have once again provoked public outrage over the alleged mass murders. This response has come out after Aaj Tak’s exclusive report, claiming to erase the police records under the conspiracy. The RTI documents received by Aaj Tak have revealed that the Belthngadi police removed all the entries recorded in ‘Unnatural Death Register – Udr’ between 2000 and 2015. This is the same period in which allegations of many suspects and unnecessary deaths were reported.

Now, RTI worker Jayant has submitted a formal complaint to the Special Investigation Team (SIT), in which he claimed to have seen the incident of illegal burial of the body of a minor girl. Jayant alleges that legal processes were openly violated during the incident and many officials were present on the spot. It is expected that the SIT will soon register an FIR in this case and start the process of excavation.

Jayant, who has been investigating the functioning of the police for a long time through RTI, said that he had earlier demanded data and photographs related to missing persons from Belthngadi police station. But the police’s response was shocking. He said that all documents, post mortem reports, posters on walls, notices and pictures used to identify unknown bodies have been destroyed under ‘General Administrative Orders’.

Jayant said, ‘On August 2, I have filed a complaint in SIT. This complaint is based on the incident I saw with my own eyes. At that time, I have mentioned the names of all the people present there, including officials. When the body of that girl was found, all the legal procedures were severely violated. He buried the dead body as if a dog burys. That scene has been harassing me like a scary dream for many years. Two years ago, I had said that if ever honest officers will handle the matter, then I will bring out the whole truth. Now that time has come, so I have filed this complaint. No one is provoking me nor someone is impressing me.

He said, ‘As an RTI worker, I filed an application at Belthngadi Police Station seeking a record of all missing complaints and records related to them. But in its reply, the police claimed that the records of all the complaints related to the missing have been destroyed. In today’s digital age, how can this information be destroyed without digitizing data without digitizing data? ‘

Jayant said, ‘If skeletons are found from somewhere, then how will the government identify them when the related documents have already been destroyed? Who are the people behind all this? Who is suppressing this whole matter and under what influence all this is happening? When computerized backup is present, how can one claim to be destroyed without backup? All these aspects should be deeply investigated.
