The senior manager of a private bank at Bhigavan Road, Baramati in Maharashtra committed suicide. Shivshankar Mitra found a corpse hanging from the hanging in the bank premises. According to the police, Mitra was a native of Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh and was working as Chief Manager at Baramati City Branch of Bank of Baroda for many years. This incident is being reported between 10 am and midnight.
Police said that Shivshankar Mitra was under great stress for the last few weeks and he had also discussed his mental state with the family. He had applied for retirement on his own five-six days ago. On Thursday night, Mitra wrote a suicide note in detail, in which he described excessive pressure related to the bank’s work as the reason for his suicide. The CCTV footage of the incident has also been seized by the police, which is being investigated.
Wife gave information on not returning home
Confirming the incident, Baramati City Police Inspector Vilas Nalla said, ‘Shivshankar Mitra’s wife informed us when he did not return home. When the bank employees investigated the campus, they found them hanging. The body has been sent for postmortem. The suicide note was found in the pocket of his pants, which is being investigated. The police have started investigating the case so that the exact reasons can be ascertained.
