The Supreme Court has given an important verdict in the case of Elimination filed by a woman. The court headed by Chief Justice BR Gavai ordered the person in the case to give his ex -wife a flat located in the High profile society of Mumbai as an alimony. Along with this, the case of ultimation should be closed now. Along with this, the bench also narrated to the woman, who had demanded that she should be given an amount of Rs 12 crore and a flat in Mumbai. On this, the bench of Chief Justice said that both of you married for 18 months and you are asking for 18 crores. This means that you want one crore in exchange for a month of marriage.
Justice Gawai and Justice K. Vinod Chandran’s bench said on the woman’s arguments that your marriage was very short. In such a situation, how is it logical to make such a big demand. Chief Justice Gawai said that the flat demanding is in Kalpataru Society in Mumbai, which is the city’s famous housing project. He asked the woman how much you have educated. On this, the woman told that she has studied up to MBA and has worked in the IT sector in the past. On this, the Chief Justice said that you can work in cities like Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Then why not work?
Not only this, the Chief Justice, citing a short duration of marriage, said that it lasted only 18 months and you are demanding 1 crore after every month. The person’s lawyer Madhavi Dewan said that the woman cannot seek economic cooperation indefinitely in the end of the end of the end of the 18 -month marriage. Diwan said that she is educated and can work. After this, the bench also called for the income tax details of the person concerned to decide how his financial condition is. He is capable of paying how much he is as an alimony.
Along with this, the Chief Justice made it clear that the woman cannot ask for any right in any such property, which is not the name of her husband’s husband but her father’s name. In the end, the court said that if the woman wishes, take a flat or make a compromise with a lump sum of Rs 4 crore. Apart from this, the Chief Justice even said that those who are eligible to do the job, they cannot deliberately take the path of unemployment to ask for a thick amount under his guise. He said that you are educated. You should not rely on this amount. You should earn yourself and live with full dignity.
