After Bihar, now SIR is also implemented in Bengal, Election Commission ordered voter verification

After Bihar, now in Bengal too, the Election Commission has started the process of special intensive revision (SIR) of the voter list. The Election Commission has written a letter to the Chief Secretary of West Bengal and informed about this and asked the state election officials to start the process of special intensive revision of the voter list. Let us know that the work of revision of voter list in Bihar is in its final stages. A draft voter list was released on 1 August in the state under the SIR process.

After this process, the names of about 65 lakh voters in Bihar will be removed from the voter list. Most of them are voters who are no longer in this world. The rest are voters who have permanently transferred to another state. There are some voters whose names were recorded in more than one constituencies. However, the opposition is opposing the special intensive revision of the voter list by the Election Commission and is calling it theft of votes at the behest of the BJP.

Whereas under 10,977 application Form-6, new voters are associated with adding, removal and other manifesto.

Common voters played a role in cleaning voter list in Bihar
In Bihar, common voters have played an important role in cleaning the voter list amidst the inaction of political parties. 1,927 complaints and 10,977 applications received by the Commission are evidence that common people are aware of their franchise. These applications are mainly related to adding new voters, removing wrong names and improvement in voter list. This silence of political parties has raised many questions. Experts believe that about 60,000 booth level agents of opposition parties have probably not yet found objectionable names in the voter list. At the same time, the Election Commission has appealed to all parties and citizens to cooperate in making the voter list more accurate. The Commission has clarified that all the parties will be given enough time before finalizing the voter list.
