Accused Angad Singh Chandok CBI arrested – Headline24x7Live

The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has brought back India to India and brought back to India from the US, the desired red notice subject in the 2014 bank fraud case and declared criminal Angad Singh Chandok. On 23 May 2025, Chandok was detained by the CBI at Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and was produced in court and sent to judicial custody.

The bank fraud case was registered on 24 July 2014, in which Angad Singh Chandok and his family members jointly committed criminal conspiracy, fraud and forgery along with four other accused, including bank officials, causing great losses to the bank. In 2016, Chandok had left the country to avoid legal proceedings and open-ended arrest warrants were issued against him.

The CBI issued a red notice from Interpol on 22 March 2017, on the basis of which he was searched internationally. The accused was eventually extradited from the US in collaboration with American officials. The CBI said that efforts are on to bring back the family members of the other wanted accused in the case, which would help in the trial proceedings. The CBI has been successful in bringing more than 100 wanted criminals back to India from abroad since 2021, in collaboration with Interpol as a National Bureau.
