In India, semiconductor is used on a large scale and now India has started doing manufacturing. In India, the work of making a rapid chip (India semiconductor market) is being done, due to which the semicondor is doing the industry. The domestic chip market was from $ 38 billion in 2023 and in the financial year 2024-25 was $ 45 to 50 billion, which is estimated to reach $ 100 to 110 billion by 2030.
If India acquires this target, then it will join the US China category, whose semocultures are of the Industries Trillion Dollar. In 2023, China’s semiconductor market was $ 177.8 billion, which is 32 per cent of the global market. Talking about manufacturing, it produces 16 to 18%. America’s chip market was $ 130 billion in the year 2023, which is 25 per cent of the global market, but the US produces only 12 per cent.
India emerging chip market
India had a total semocover market in 2024 dollars in the year 2024, which produces 1 percent in the total global market. However, India’s chip market is growing by 16% growth i.e. by 2030 it will have a share of up to 6.21% in the global market. In such a situation, it can be said that India is an emerging country in the global semiconductor market.
Due to this, the growing semiconductor is increasing
According to an official statement, this growth is increasing the production of semiconductor like India Semiconductor Mission and Seemicon India Program started at a cost of Rs 76000 crore. Global cooperation like Initiative on Critical and Emerging Technology (ICET) has further enhanced India’s stake in the field.
Foxconn and HCL’s joint venture
The country’s chip construction infrastructure is gradually changing the size. In May 2025, the Union Cabinet approved a semiconductor construction facility under the India Semicondor Mission, a joint venture between HCL and Foxconn. This plant will manufacture display driver chips for devices like mobile phones, laptops, cars and PC. This plant has been designed for the capacity of 20 thousand wafers monthly. This is expected to produce monthly 36 million chips.
The production of India’s first indigenous semiconductor chip is also going to start this year and five manufacturing units are still being built. India is not only a market, but also to achieve important global stake as a production center.
