There is continuous attacks on the Election Commission by Rahul Gandhi. He has alleged rigging in the assembly elections and Lok Sabha elections of states like Maharashtra, Haryana. The latest case is from Karnataka. He had alleged that one lakh people in Karnataka were removed from the voter list and thus votes were stolen. Now Rahul Gandhi has been sent to affidavit by the Chief Electoral Officer of Karnataka in this case. He has demanded Rahul Gandhi to sign the affidavit that he is making the right allegation. If their claims are found to be wrong, then legal action will be taken against them.

The Chief Electoral Officer of Karnataka has sent a letter regarding the claims made in Rahul Gandhi’s press conference. In this letter, he has asked to sign the affidavit, referring to the allegations made by Rahul Gandhi. It is written in the CEO’s letter from the CEO of Karnataka, “It is known that during a press conference held today, you mentioned to include ineligible voters in the voter list and exclude eligible voters. You are requested to send back with the name of such voters by signing the oath under Rule Registration Rules, 1960’s Rule 20 (3) (B).”

Commission has told allegations baseless
In this affidavit, the Commission has also mentioned that if Rahul Gandhi is not able to prove these claims right, then legal action can be taken against him. Earlier, the Commission has rejected all the allegations made by Rahul Gandhi. On the claims of Rahul Gandhi’s evidence against the Election Commission last week, the Election Commission had said that Rahul Gandhi has never filed a formal complaint and has not appeared before the Commission even after repeated calls.

Rahul Gandhi’s answer came
During Rahul Gandhi’s press conference, a journalist informed him about the affidavit sent by the Election Commission. Responding to this, Congress MP Rahul Gandhi said that he is making this statement publicly and the Commission should see it as an oath. Rahul Gandhi said, “I am a politician. I am saying what I am saying. Look at it as an oath. This is not our data. Why the Election Commission is not saying that I am wrong. They are saying that I am saying that I should sign the affidavit. It is clear that they know that we know everything.”

Allegations of vote theft by presenting ‘evidence’
Earlier on Thursday, Rahul Gandhi has shown several ‘evidence’ accusing the Election Commission of involvement in vote theft on Thursday. Rahul Gandhi has said that it has taken more than 6 months for the Congress to collect all the evidence. During the press conference, Rahul Gandhi claimed that many names, addresses were fake in the voter list of Karnataka. He also showed in some documents that along with the names of many people were recorded at the same address, a fake address of thousands of voters was recorded.
