New Delhi
At present, there is a rage between the BJP and the Aam Aadmi Party at the hanging house in the assembly premises in Delhi. Speaker Vijendra Gupta has justified it by citing history. The debate has been going on in the Delhi Legislative Assembly for the last three days. In this connection, taking a step further today, the speaker has sent the matter to the Privilege Committee for investigation. Not only this, if needed, Arvind Kejriwal can also be summoned.
Speaker of Delhi Legislative Assembly Vijendra Gupta had earlier told the House that the structure which was renewed and inaugurated by the then Chief Minister Kejriwal in 2022 as a hanging house was actually a tiffin room according to the records. Showing the 1912 map of the assembly premises, he said on Wednesday that there is no document or evidence that shows that the place was used to hang. Directing on the matter on Thursday, Gupta said that he has sent the matter to the Privilege Committee for investigation.
He said, “The committee will summon former Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, his deputy Manish Sisodia and the then Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goyal.” He reiterated his allegation that lies were spread in the name of the hanging house and history broke. He said in the House that the plaque named Kejriwal will be removed outside the house. The 1912 map showing it a tiffin room will also be displayed.
