Boat became a procession ride: Bihari Barati became memorable for marriage trapped in flood

A unique marriage has been seen in Ballia, UP. Due to the closure of the road from the floods in the Ganges river here, a procession from Bihar rode on a boat and reached Ballia. This view of the villagers riding on the boat, with full enthusiasm with the river’s exhibits, was full of applause for the villagers. This whole matter has become a matter of discussion in the area.

Eclipse on marriage due to flood
According to the information, Rajesh Kumar, son of Kamlesh Ram, a resident of Nainijor Lal Dera village in Buxar district of Bihar, was married in Beyasi village of Ballia. Amidst the preparations for the wedding, the Buxar district was hit by the flood of the Ganges river due to heavy rains. Due to the flood, all the roads were submerged and closed. It became difficult to take the procession due to the roadways being completely submerged. Kamlesh Ram said that the marriage was eclipsed due to floods. In such an odd state, the family decided to take the procession by boat.

Saj Dhaj’s boat
A procession came out on a decorated boat from under the embankment near Gangauli village. The groom Rajesh, wearing a safa, sat on a boat in a traditional dress and came out with him on two boats. There was no DJ on the boat, nor band-baja, but the gap of the Ganges waves and the rhythm of sailors made the atmosphere special. The baraatis also applauded the dholak in full enthusiasm. This scene was unique for the villagers.

People took a photo of this special procession from their mobiles and made videos and started sharing on social media. On seeing this, this procession became a topic of discussion in the area. The groom’s father Kamlesh Ram said that the wedding date was already decided and it was not possible to cancel it, hence it was decided to take the procession by boat. The waves of Ganga Maiya made this procession memorable.
